About us
GadgetCheck publishes product checks for kitchen, home and tech gadgets. We read the manufacturer’s own claims, compare them against published research and material data, and describe where the two disagree.
We use affiliate links. If you follow one of our links and buy something, we receive a commission from the merchant. The price you pay does not change. We are paid for the referral, not for a positive verdict — where a product has limits, we name them.
We do not test every product ourselves. Where an article is based on manufacturer information and published customer feedback rather than our own hands-on use, the article says so.

What data we process
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technical data required to deliver it: IP address, time of request, requested URL, referring page, browser and operating system. This is necessary to operate the site and to defend against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website.
Cloudflare Inc. is based in the United States. Transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Click tracking (ClickFlare)
We use ClickFlare to understand which articles lead to clicks on our affiliate links. The script loads from flarevisits.com and sets the following cookies:

ClickFlare is operated by Codewise / ClickFlare, with servers that may be located outside the EEA. Transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
When you click an affiliate link
Our affiliate links run through our own domain (/go/…) and then redirect to the merchant. In that redirect we pass on the market (e.g. de, no) and, if present, the click identifier described above. From that point the merchant’s own privacy policy applies. We have no control over what the merchant collects — please read their policy before ordering.
What we do not do
We do not run a newsletter, contact form or comment section. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or social media plugins. We do not sell data to anyone.
Retention
Server logs are retained by Cloudflare according to their own retention schedule. Tracking cookies expire as listed above or when you delete them. We do not maintain a separate database of visitors.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

Editorial policy
Our articles state which claims come from the manufacturer and which are checked against independent sources. Customer quotes are taken from the merchant’s own pages and are marked as such; we do not invent reviews or claim tests we have not carried out. Where we recommend against a product for a particular use, we say so plainly, regardless of the commission.
